Almost a full year ago, a former fighter pilot DITCHED THE PASSENGER JET he was flying in the Hudson River, without the loss of a single life.

Now, you can re-enact this historic (and totally unprecedented - I mean, no one DIED? Are you kidding?) water landing…...from Captain Sullenberger’s seat! I really do wish Dad had lived to see this - he would have enjoyed it immensely!

Be aware that the sound is ONLY what came over the radio - the cockpit chatter is appearing in the blue and yellow boxes at the bottom.

There are no words to properly express my admiration for the job of piloting shown here. A “dead-stick” landing (apparently named when the propellor was made of wood, and when it stopped, it was a “dead stick”) is a challenge even in a small plane and on land, as I’m only too aware from personal experience…..but to safely put a twin-engine jetliner down on the water and have everyone walk away is an incredible tribute to the skill of the pilot. Say a prayer that if something goes wrong when you’re flying, you’ve got a pilot of the caliber of Chesley B. Sullenberger III!
