YOU, TOO CAN NAVIGATE YOUR CAR USING A SATELLITE…...

HERE’S AN INTRODUCTION for those of you unfamiliar with the concept…..and if you’re a “visual learner” there is a VIDEO VERSION

PRICES ARE ‘WAY DOWN, as well…..which may tempt you to run right out and get your own, especially if you have a troubled relationship with your maps.

But, BE WARNED......it’s not all good.  Not by a long shot…..

A 46-year-old German motorist driving along a busy road suddenly veered to the left and ended up stuck on a railway track—because his satellite navigation system told him to, police said Sunday.

I know what you’re thinking…...“What a doofus!  I’m much too smart to do anything like THAT!”

And, perhaps you are….but maybe you want to think about it some more.  This situation, while embarrassing, isn’t the worst that can happen, and this guy isn’t the only one with the problem, apparently:

Several German motorists have crashed their cars in recent months, later telling police they were only obeying orders from their satnavs.

My map has gotten me lost a number of times…..but so long as I stop the car to read it, it’s not going to get me killed!
