HOTEL de PARIS, YOUR HOTEL IN PARIS

Gail found this hotel on the Web,

and we have nothing but praise for it….given the price of hotels in Paris, it qualifies as a budget hotel; its location is fabulous; it’s clean; and the staff are wonderful.  If we come back to Paris, this is where we’ll stay!

Hotel de Paris, Montmartre is on Rue Biot

image

image

which is EASY to find because it enters the Place Clichy

image

a busy traffic circle with about six streets entering it – Rue Biot is across from us in the above view, behind the white van, with restaurant and sidewalk café just to the left of it.

Place Clichy is well-known to taxi drivers, bus drivers, and it has its own Metro stop (Metro is what they call the subway or underground, and it stops running at 1:00 a.m., so be warned)

image

You can go to all the major tourist destinations on the Metro, although we don’t recommend this – perhaps taking the Underground TO the first of your sites will do and then WALK….this is Paris, after all – the back streets are fascinating and you will discover much of value there.  Or, ride the Tube back to the hotel at the end of a long day of walking…..but you must walk.

Here is the hotel lobby

and here some views from our room.  First, the building across the street as we saw it the night we arrived

image

Here is the street from the direction of our arrival – you can see the Internet café we used on the lower right.

image

And here is the view toward Place Clichy

image

In that direction is a small market where we bought bottles of water, a wonderful Ginger Beer from Jamaica, and ingredients for cheap lunches

image

Our room was small, with twin beds

image

a TV, desk, drawers, and a tiny bath by the door – right rear

How blessed can one be to spend a 40th Anniversary weekend in Paris!?

Thanks to Hotel de Paris – who made it possible for about $80.00 per night!
