FEELING OPTIMISTIC THESE DAYS…....?

Obviously, you’re not in possession of the facts about what is going on in the world…..or, you haven’t processed them and do not understand what they so clearly imply.  We are not back in the COLD WAR where there was a clearly defined enemy who generally acted rationally (at least, we had some understanding of his reactions).  We’re in a new war….and if you haven’t accepted that fact, yet, then you need to wake up and smell the coffee.  How’s this?

My concern is that our underlying foreign-policy dilemma calls for both hawkishness and gloom — and will for some time. The two worst-case scenarios are world-war abroad and nuclear terror at home. I fear we’re on a slow-motion track to both.

UPDATE: If that isn’t enough to ruin your day, here’s something else that rings true…..

When the current fighting ends, the nation (Israel) will have to conduct a soul-searching reevaluation of the criteria that determine who is fit to lead it into the future and what the principles are that should shape that future. For the continued survival of the Jewish nation-state, such a re-evaluation is imperative.

The failures and lessons pointed out in this article can (and should) be applied in our country as well…..because the stakes for us are precisely the same as they are for Israel.  Our survival as a country in the tradition of Western Civilization is not guaranteed….it will have to be fought for.  Are we prepared for that?  READ THE WHOLE THING

Believe it or not, it gets worse from there….but the case is logically and relentlessly argued, and if we invite “Rosy Scenario” in to assuage our concerns, we will suffer for it.  How’s this for a slap in the face from the land of cold reality?

I am (a) hawk because I believe that the danger of nuclear terror and nuclear blackmail remain real, and because I am convinced that negotiations from weakness, grand bargains, and unilateral retreats are powerless to defuse these threats. In short, I am a gloomy hawk because I believe that neither hawks nor doves have any viable near-term solutions to the problem we now face.

READ THE WHOLE THING....vote accordingly….and for all our sakes, convince your friends and neighbors.
