Ald. Richard Mell forgot to re-register his guns. No problem—he’ll just write a new law.
The law is one that the Alderman himself helped to write and pass….and it requires ANNUAL re-registration of firearms.
Ridiculous, no? But, it’s the law. Alderman Mell says that he’s writing this new law, allowing a one-month “grace period”, NOT just for himself. There are other Chicago citizens who also forgot, and they will benefit, as well.
I guess that means that he’s sponsored one of these each year since the law was passed, and he’ll keep on doing it in the future…..right, I’m sure THAT is happening.
How about just repealing the stupid law, Mr. Mell!
Hat Tip: The INSTAPUNDIT
Weak human beings can equal strong ones by the USE OF A GUN, distasteful as that is to some…...
One of the worst unintended consequences of the (worldwide) tendency to deny law-abiding citizens the right to carry a firearm for protection is that it puts most women at an enormous disadvantage to most men. And men are, on average, the violent sex - meaning that women are at great risk, and their governments have removed from them virtually their only opportunity to balance the scales when a physically more powerful man attacks them.
Ten years ago, McNally found herself on the other end of a gun, when she was nearly abducted in broad daylight from a mall parking lot.
Her screams saved her then, but she vowed that next time - should there be one - she would not rely on her lungs to save her.
But, there is hope, at least in the United States of America.
