LET US PRAISE THE COURAGE OF THOSE WHO STAND FOR THE RIGHT AT THE RISK OF THEIR LIVES.
I’m speaking of ARABS for ISRAEL, whose website begins
Arabs and Moslems who support the State of Israel and the cause of Peace in the Middle East.
We are praying for Prime Minister Sharon.
To Muslims and Arabs across the globe:
Reject hate, embrace love. Bring out the best in Islam by showing your compassion, gratitude and forgiveness. Make the holy land truly holy by giving Israel and the Jewish people the respect they deserve in their tiny little country. This is not a crisis over land. It is a crisis of the soul; a crisis in our faith, judgement and self confidence. Israel should not be regarded as an enemy, but as a blessing to our neighborhood. We need not fear peace, but embrace it.

ANOTHER NOMINATION FOR “COURAGE IN THE FACE OF COMMUNITY PRESSURE”
GOOD INTENTIONS AREN’T ENOUGH. At least, that’s what John McWhorter, today’s candidate. tells us. LBJ’s Great Society had wonderful intentions - to rid the U.S. of poverty in a single generation. The results were not what was expected.
What Katrina stripped bare, then, was not white supremacy, but that culture matters — even if what created the culture was misguided white benevolence. Social scientists neglect that before the 1960s poor blacks knew plenty of economic downturns and plenty more racism.
But before the 1960s the kinds of behaviour so common among the blacks stranded in the Superdome, possibly including multiple rapes, was a fringe phenomenon. Only after the 1960s did it become a community norm.

WHAT DOES COURAGE LOOK LIKE?
One thing for sure, in THIS CASE it appeared as no more than hands and a face….... Natalya Dmytruk
interprets for Ukraine’s state-run television. Her face and hands appear in a little box at the bottom of the screen as she sends out the news on the mid-morning and early afternoon telecasts to the hearing-impaired.
During the tense days of Ukraine’s presidential elections last year, Dmytruk staged a silent but bold protest, informing deaf Ukrainians that official results from the Nov. 21 runoff were fraudulent. Her act of courage further emboldened protests that grew until a new election was held and the opposition candidate, Viktor Yushchenko , was declared the winner.
