According to Chris Hedges, former correspondent for the New York Times…..and he has a WHOLE BOOK OUT ABOUT IT.
The title calls America’s fundamentalist Christians “fascists”, and the man really means it. He repeats it multiple times as he is INTERVIEWED BY DENNIS PRAGER. Prager’s listeners call in with questions and statements, and the fatuous nature of Hedges’ “analysis” is laid open for all to see. Don’t miss it.
...when citizens call them nasty names.
Does that seem harsh?
Well, here we are in Tennessee, a state with no income tax. The politicians HATE that, and they want to impose one, but the people keep voting it down.
Four years ago, they raised the sales tax, which is now nearly 10 percent on EVERYTHING, including staple food and basic clothing.
Today, the state has had a surplus for three years running, with a total of almost $1,000,000,000.00, and what is the legislature doing? Cutting the sales tax? Right. They’re debating a tax INCREASE…...
Like I said - Why should they expect anything but what they get from their constituents - contempt. READ ALL ABOUT IT
Weak human beings can equal strong ones by the USE OF A GUN, distasteful as that is to some…...
One of the worst unintended consequences of the (worldwide) tendency to deny law-abiding citizens the right to carry a firearm for protection is that it puts most women at an enormous disadvantage to most men. And men are, on average, the violent sex - meaning that women are at great risk, and their governments have removed from them virtually their only opportunity to balance the scales when a physically more powerful man attacks them.
Ten years ago, McNally found herself on the other end of a gun, when she was nearly abducted in broad daylight from a mall parking lot.
Her screams saved her then, but she vowed that next time - should there be one - she would not rely on her lungs to save her.
But, there is hope, at least in the United States of America.
RIGHT! you say…...
Well, it’s “compressed” air…..but that’s what pushes the pistons in the engine.
Yes, you have to compress the air - but that’s a lot cheaper than burning gasoline. How cheap?
Most importantly, it is incredibly cost-efficient to run – according to the designers, it costs less than one Euro per 100Km (about a tenth that of a petrol car). Its mileage is about double that of the most advanced electric car (200 to 300 km or 10 hours of driving), a factor which makes a perfect choice in cities where the 80% of motorists drive at less than 60Km. The car has a top speed of 68 mph.
Probably not right for driving to Nebraska and back (although there’s a compressor on board for longer trips), but as a commuter car, this looks to be a real winner. Obviously, the designers are going to put the best face on it…..you’ll need to READ THE WHOLE THING
UPDATE: Concerns have been raised about the high-pressure air tank and what would happen in a crash. REASSURANCE IS HERE
The HALL OF FAME was introducing a SPECIAL EXHIBIT on Sacred Harp Singing this weekend, featuring the wonderful documentary, AWAKE MY SOUL.
The filmmakers were there, but that wasn’t the big attraction for us—we wanted to meet a couple of the grand old men of Sacred Harp, Hugh McGraw and Raymond Hamrick. Singing with these two gentlemen is roughly the equivalent of playing a round of golf with ARNIE....who knew BOBBY JONES; or playing pepper with CARL YASTRZEMSKI.... who played with TED WILLIAMS; or shooting a game or HORSE with KAREEM....who played against both WILT and BILL RUSSELL.
In the latest batch of photos on this grandpapa’s FAVORITE BLOGSITE appeared the world’s CUTEST GRANDCHILD.
