DOES ANYONE STILL BELIEVE THAT PROMISCUOUS SEX PRODUCES ANYTHING BUT MISERY?

They might try reading THIS EXCERPT from Robert Hughes’ forthcoming book, Things I Didn’t Know.

What is it that impels folk to continue with that which ends in such exquisite misery? It’s hard to be faithful, of course…...so? The dividends are great.

I’m not so worried about naked women hugging dead pigs - if that’s what someone wants to do, the country is big enough to accommodate them. But, PLEASE don’t take my money to provide this kind of thing…...let those who are both willing and interested pay for it themselves.

DO WE HAVE A DEATH WISH…......?

Sometimes it’s hard to see any other reason for THIS KIND OF IDIOCY

On June 21, a senior DHS official from Washington personally guided Muslim officials from the Council on American-Islamic Relations on a behind-the-scenes tour of Customs screening operations at O’Hare International Airport in response to CAIR complaints that Muslim travelers were being unfairly delayed as they entered the U.S. from abroad.

WONDERING WHAT HAPPENED TO THE IDF AGAINST HEZBOLLAH IN LEBANON?

Here is a great PIECE OF ANALYSIS by Yuval Steinetz.

The failure of the Second War in Lebanon is the failure of the new culture of war….The rush to victory in battle requires a willingness to take risks of the “he who dares wins” variety. However, even if daring pays off in the long run, it occasionally and naturally leads to resounding failure. Striving for a win on the ground is a risk, as there is no ground battle without casualties. “We count our dead and we are proud of that,“ Prime Minister Olmert said in his Knesset address at the war’s end. But if counting the fallen causes vacillation and indecisiveness, and annihilates ambition to deliver a strategic victory, how could gains become anything but losses, in terms of strategic objectives or loss of life?

He locates the problem in both the political and military leadership of Israel…..and looks forward to lessons being learned. Let’s pray for it.

WHEN DID “DIVERSITY” BECOME A CODE WORD FOR SKIN COLOR?

LEO MORRIS is asking a politically incorrect question in a recent column.

Now, if someone can patiently explain to the rightwing dummy why a Hispanic kid in California and a black kid in Chicago and a white kid in Aboite—who are mostly all educated in the same kinds of public schools and who are all caught up in the same popular culture—are more “diverse” than an Irish immigrant fleeing the potato famine, a Jewish immigrant escaping from Russia and an Italian immigrant trying to get away from the Cosa Nostra, and I’ll take it all back.

Our country needs to squarely face the issue he raises….or continue down the road to ruin we’ve been diverted into. READ THE WHOLE THING

DEFINITELY NOT THE USUAL ARTICLE ABOUT ABORTION…...

We don’t have a crystal ball, but there’s someone who does, and there is a reason for every stork He sends along. I am religiously illiterate, but I have come to understand on the most visceral level why pregnancies are called “blessings”—even if, as often as not, the blessing comes in disguise.

For all the reluctant mothers-to-be out there, you should know that when you’re having even a momentary second thought, someone you can’t see is whispering in your ear. Fortunately for my husband’s and my families, on the third occasion our parents listened.

WHAT IF TODAY’S NEW YORK TIMES EDITORS HAD BEEN AROUND IN THE 1930s….hmmmmmmm?

Well, we would’ve probably seen stories beginning like this, don’t you think?

BRUSSELS, April 30, 1943—European leaders today expressed their “acute concern” over the intensifying conflict between Jews and the Gestapo in Warsaw, which they fear may further deteriorate fragile peace in Europe. Foreign ministers of the few remaining independent European powers adopted a declaration calling for an immediate end to the hostilities. Reflecting differing views among European nations, the document appears worded to avoid apportioning blame. It notes the Nazi Resistance must immediately make the operation of their gas chambers more transparent, while adding that Jews must show “utmost restraint” and not resort to “disproportionate action.“

Someone’s got a mockup of the front page all made up, and it sounds eerily familiar….SEE THE WHOLE THING
