I suppose most of us have learned that “the ecological Indian” is a myth….but just in case the coffin needs ANOTHER NAIL, here it is.
You don’t KNOW…...?
Well, neither did I—until I found THIS SITE, where anyone can learn this interesting and useless bit of trivia…..
In my case, it was ““Near You” by Francis Craig”. I have never HEARD OF, much less “heard” this song…... Can anyone help me? Nice song? Or dud?

This is the question that the indispensable RICHARD JOHN NEUHAUS says is facing us.
The current explosion of violent protest is to be understood as a demand that Denmark, and the West more generally, subject itself to Islamic rules about what can and cannot be published. It seemed to me, and I argued that moderate Muslims seeing the Danish cartoons would tend to shake their heads sadly at those Muslims who have made such things a propos. Much like faithful Catholics did about some of the cartoons that came out during the height of the pedophile-priest fiasco. Were the cartoons “offensive”? Of course they were. Were they totally understandable in view of the situation on the ground? Equally certainly.
Well, there are Muslims with the wisdom to look at things in this way…..
Then, how come South Carolina can’t?
Dorian Cain told me he wants to learn to read. He’s 18 years old and in 12th grade, but when I asked him to read from a first-grade level book, he struggled with it.
“Did they try to teach you to read?” I asked him.
“From time to time.”
